In this issue - the final print issue of Out & About Nashville before it becomes OUTvoices Nashville - we feature the fine art of body modification as practiced by LGBTQ+ people in Nashville. Our cover models this month are Seamus O'Reilly and Gustavo Ferraro. Seamus and Gustavo are both well-known local adult entertainers and sex workers - and each has developed his own following on video sites like OnlyFans. They are also avid tattoo collectors. In a field where image is everything, they discuss how their affinity for tattoos has impacted their careers, both positively and negatively.
While both Seamus O'Reilly and Gustavo Ferraro are quite accepting of the fact that there will be those who don’t like the look and take a live and let live attitude, not all of their fans have the same philosophy. While it would be easy to think to themselves, “I wish this person I’m a fan of hadn’t done that,” and move on with their lives, some people simply can’t keep their opinions to themselves.
We also have a feature interview with Nashville's premier LGBTQ+ owned and operated shop, Alchemy. James Grady discusses everything from how Tai Orten is expanding her business and how she chooses who will join her in the shop as a tattooer to her favorite tattoo styles.
In the last couple of decades, as newer generations have taken up the art of tattooing, more women and LGBTQIA+ people have joined the ranks of the best tattooers in the business. In this issue we also feature the work of four LGBTQ+ tattooers, Writhe Grey, Madeline Wolfe, Auroura, & Devon Greig.
